Professor A. C. Grayling opens the TASMANIAN WRITERS & READERS FESTIVAL 2017 with his address at the Theatre Royal on Thursday 14 September.

A. C. Grayling’s latest book, Democracy and its Crisis, reflects on contemporary international issues and the struggle for a free world. A.C. sets the tone for the festival themes, urging us to engage with other worlds. Enjoy an evening with this extraordinary philosopher and humanist, who will be joined by Heather Rose and Distinguished Professor Jeff Malpas to open the festival.

This event includes the announcement and award of the Emerging Tasmanian Aboriginal Writers Award.
