Forty South Publishing and the Tasmanian Writers’ Centre present Writing for Tasmania 40°South – our state’s iconic magazine – and Launch of the Forty South Short Story Anthology 2016, featuring the best of the Tasmanian Writers’ Prize 2016 as judged by Robyn Mundy, Chris Gallagher and James Dryburgh


5.00-5.45pm: Panel discussion – Writing for Tasmania 40°South (with Editor Chris Champion and writers Nicholas Brodie, Carol Freeman, Clarissa Horwood and Mike Kerr). Moderated by ABC Radio Weekends host Chris Wisbey.

5.45-6.00pm: Break for refreshments

6.00-6.45pm: Launch of the Forty South Short Story Anthology 2016 

To be launched by Tasmanian Writers’ Centre Director Chris Gallagher, with readings from finalists Andrea McMahon and Helen Wyatt.

Ben Smith Noble, the winner of the 2015 Young Tasmanian Writers’ Prize junior section, will read from his winning story The Sands of Time, and the writers will also be joined by Queensland finalist Karenlee Thompson.

Finalists Keren Heenan and Roger Vickery will also be visiting from Victoria.
