The 2017 Premier’s Literary Prizes: Join us on stage at the Theatre Royal for the announcement of the Shortlist. Bookings essential. Thursday 14 Sept, 6pm

Meet the Writers: Join us in the Bar at Hadley’s to hear the ABC Radio’s Helen Shield interview a selection of Festival guests for Your Afternoon. ¬†Friday 15 Sept, 2-4pm

Welcome Drinks and Introduction to GASP ‘Present’: Join us at Hadley’s for a Festival-opening drink and meet the artists for the GASP Saturday night event. A chance to mingle with writers and soak up the Festival atmosphere!


We will be launching five fabulous books during the Festival, and all the launches are free. You can hear authors, illustrators, artists and publishers talk about their books:

Poets & Painters – Celebrating the Big Punchbowl, published by the Tasmanian Land Conservancy to be launched by Pete Hay on Saturday 16 September at 5.30pm

Free Diving by Lorrae Coffin, illustrated by Bronwyn Houston, published by Magabala Books, to be launched by Christina Booth on Sunday 17 September at 11.30am
