Presentation – Tom J Dunbabin: An Archaeologist at War
Date and time: 29th August 2015 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Bangor Wine & Oyster Shed, 20 Blackman Bay Drive, Dunalley Tasmania 7177
Tom, an Oxford scholar and an archaeologist, became an unlikely hero of the Crete resistance. Working as a spy with the British Special Operations Executive during WW2, he became a celebrated friend of Crete and a loathed adversary of the occupying Germans.
Seventy years later, his cousin of the same name has brought his story to life, and is hosting a presentation about the role played by a little known Tasmanian in this amazing chapter in Crete history.
