A Writer’s Journey: Scrivener for writers with Alison Stuart

Scrivener for writers is a full day hands-on workshop to get you up and running with the Scrivener software.

Scrivener is not a word processor. It is an award-winning project management system for your writing and if you can give it a little time and effort you will see that it has the potential to make your writing process a whole lot more efficient. There is no wrong way to do it and it can be totally adapted to the way you write—whether you are a plotter or an organic writer or a bit of both.

In this Workshop, Alison Stuart will introduce you to the use of Scrivener from the very first moment you open up the program. No prior knowledge of Scrivener is assumed, however, the course is deliberately structured to suit both absolute beginners and those who have some experience with Scrivener but want to learn more. Alison teaches this course regularly and has found that even those who think they are already using Scrivener effectively come away with more confidence and new skills.  She will also cover some of its hidden gems such as: Project Labels and Colour, Project Targets, name generator, scratchpad and notes. And Alison will also touch on some other online tools that writers may find useful for organising their work.

By the end of the day you should feel confident in starting a project, navigating your way around the Scrivener interface, through to compiling your work into a standard manuscript Word document. You will also receive a full set of notes and access to Alison’s online videos to reinforce what you’ve learned when you get home.

Alison Stuart is the published author of seven full length historical novels (with romance) and a collection of short stories. Many of her stories have been shortlisted for international awards and By the Sword won the 2008 EPIC Award for Best Historical Romance. She is a past president of Romance Writers of Australia.

NOTES: This course covers Scrivener for computers (MAC and PC), NOT Scrivener for IOS (Ipad) which is a completely different configuration.

All participants will need to bring their own computer preloaded with Scrivener. A discount code is available to participants and will be forwarded on to you after enrolment.
